The city of Heidelberg has introduced an overnight stay tax for uninterrupted stays of up to five nights in the same accommodation facility, effective October 1, 2025. This municipal tax amounts to €3.50 per overnight stay per guest. Children and young people up to the age of 16 are exempt. It will be levied on overnight stays starting on or after October 1, 2025, even if the stay began before October 1, 2025.

We pass these costs directly to the city of Heidelberg at no extra charge. This means...

· The overnight tax is not part of our overnight price, but a mandatory municipal levy.

We are legally obliged to collect this tax from our guests and pass it on to the city of Heidelberg.

· We do not earn anything from this tax, but it results in additional costs for billing, documentation and payment to the city.

It is important to us that you are properly informed about this additional tax.

We tried to prevent the introduction of the overnight tax together with the Hotel and Restaurant Association DEHOGA Baden-Württemberg eV, but unfortunately without success…

To unload your luggage at check-in, please drive directly onto Lauerstrasse and park in a location that allows other drivers to pass unhindered. With our information leaflet behind your windshield (sent with your booking confirmation or available at reception), you can park at the hotel for approximately 10–15 minutes. Afterwards, we recommend using the nearby parking garages P11, P12, and P13 (approximately 250–500 meters away, see also https://parken.heidelberg.de/ . - only available in German).

Parking in the old town is only permitted for residents with appropriate parking permits.

Yes, the 'Marstallstraße' bus stop is located directly at the hotel and offers regular connections to the main train station (line 32) and other bus lines such as 35 or 735 - https://www.vrn.de/) – ideal for stress-free arrival and departure.

No, we are a small hotel located in a listed building and do not have bicycle storage facilities. Bicycle storage is also not available in the guest rooms and is therefore not permitted. If you wish to travel with bicycles, you can secure them to suitable posts around the hotel.

Your room is usually available from 3:00 PM. For early arrivals, you are welcome to leave your luggage with us so you can spend the day relaxing in the city. We will then deliver your luggage directly to your room. Check-out is possible until 11:00 AM on the day of departure.

As a listed building, we are not barrier-free.

Free high-speed Wi-Fi is available in our hotel.

We ask for your understanding that out of consideration for other guests, pets are not allowed in our hotel.

We want to protect the environment and conserve resources responsibly. Therefore, room cleaning is only done upon request. This means you should inform us in advance – ideally the day before or in the morning – at reception during opening hours if you would like an interim cleaning, a towel change, or if you would like toilet paper or tissues replenished.
